Blurb for Coming to Terms:

Summer means more than fun and sun, rest and relaxation. For the couples in Coming to Terms, vacation presents a chance to connect, and work through important issues in their domestic discipline relationships. From endeavoring to define DD to missing a DD partner to balancing erotic spanking and disciplinary spanking, these stand-alone stories penned by seven authors of spanking fiction cover a broad spectrum of issues commonly encountered in loving DD relationships. Will the obstacles prove too difficult to overcome? Or will each couple emerge from vacation with their relationships revitalized and stronger than ever?

Clarification: The Anthology is called Coming to Terms and has seven (7) stories by seven (7) different authors. This review will only mention one of those stories - Wife on the Lam by Cara Bristol.

Blurb for Wife on the Lam:

After two kids, three moves, and the normal ups and downs of a twenty-year domestic discipline marriage, Janelle wants to celebrate their wedding anniversary with a luxury vacation. But despite subtle hints like leaving a copy of the Cabana Resort brochure with the Couples’ Getaway Package circled in red on her husband’s golf magazine, Brent misses all the clues. Worse, he scheduled a business trip on their anniversary! Though her bottom might pay for it later, Janelle decides to take her luxury vacation anyway. Leaving a note and a casserole, she flies off to the resort. She’s going to celebrate, with or without him.

If anything proves that he’s slacked off on his duties as head of household, this stunt of Janelle’s does. Brent had booked the Diamond Package at the Cabana Resort to surprise her and planned to present her with the tickets when she took him to airport for his “business trip.” She’s ruined the surprise, but he’s not going to let her ruin their anniversary. It’s time to take his errant wife in hand and get their marriage back on track.

Wife on the Lam is a short story and a very quick read. It's about what happens when a wife, Janelle, feels slighted by her husband's inattention on their 22nd wedding anniversary and how her husband, Brent, deals with her behavior. Since this is a short story, I kind of wished the blurb told me less about what was going to happen, because it essentially summarized the plot and I was hoping to have some element of surprise. However, there were some surprises that made up for that in the story.

I really liked Brent. He was fun and resourceful, just as I would picture a dominant husband who takes his wife in hand. Janelle was impulsive and, while I didn't agree with her actions, I commiserated with her plight. I laughed at some of her antics and waited impatiently for her to pay the piper. I liked the build up and anticipation throughout the story. And, honestly, when it was over, I was like... but... but... (or butt... butt... sore butt). I was surprised how quickly it ended. I wanted a little bit more story and a little bit more sexy time, but it's an anthology and the story is meant to be short, so it's a good thing that there are 6 other stories to move right on to after you finish Wife on the Lam.

Other stories in Coming to Terms include:

"Confession Time" by Sue Lyndon
"This Moment" by Alta Hensley
"Days With You" by Jade Cary

  1. Thank you, Haydee for the review. Interesting that you felt it needed more "sexy time." As I wrote it, it was a toss-up (for me) whether I wrote in the sex scene or not. The story was short, but we were all supposed to write about 10k, but everyone went over, some of the authors quite a bit over. Mine was 11K, one of the shorter stories.

    1. Short stories are always tricky. I really liked the character development and build up to their encounter. Brent was hilarious and so sneaky. I loved him. :-)
